The Lowcountry Regional Transportation Authority
provides public bus transportation to a five county area. Beaufort is located on the Intra-Coastal Waterway, making it possible to deliver freight to the area by barge. Port Royal offers complete barge facilities.

Thirteen Public Parks, three marina are in sight of downtown Beaufort on the Intra Coastal, 8 eighteen-hole championship golf courses, Recreation Center, two movie theaters. Hunting Island State Park - selected as one of the top 100 parks in the nation by National Geographic - has a beautiful public beach.
